The Stanley 38 evolved from our Stanley 36, the company’s flagship when one of our customers wanted more room in the forecastle. Rather than designing an entirely new mold, we extended the Stanley 36 by adding 36 inches right in the middle of the hull. The extension lengthens and accentuates the original Stanley 36 sheer line. The extension also offers more room in the center of the boat, where it counts most.
This traditional semi-displacement hull has a reasonably flat section aft, a slight deadrise, and a soft chine. It has a little rocker in the bottom and a deep forefront that helps hold her up in the wind when docking. She cruises comfortably at 18 knots and tops out around 20-23 knots.
The pilothouse and large cockpit area are open, providing excellent visibility while cruising. This is a great platform for fishing or entertaining, with plenty of room for as many as 15 guests. Construction includes an aft settee. For perfect Plein air dining, add a table and chairs. When the weather becomes inclement, the entire pilothouse can be easily enclosed.
Below the deck, you will find a large V-berth forward plus a full head with a shower. You can choose to have the galley up or down. In fact, all of the accommodations can be customized to your needs. Throughout, construction features our fine craft joinery and brightwork for your choice of woods.
